Spring 3-on-3 Developmental (K-2nd Grade)

The Great American Basketball League has always prided itself on doing the right thing for its patrons and the community.  Thanks to the support of families like yourself, GABL hires hundreds of members of the community every year and spends hundreds of thousands of dollars within the surrounding school districts creating a revenue source for both.

With unfortunate, but necessary, news, we will be cancelling our spring GABL 5v5 and 3v3 Development Leagues as well as our Skills Academy for the spring season.  With the recommendations from the CDC and the social distancing of groups of 10 or more, we feel this is the only way to ensure the safety of our families, players, staff and school district employees and be a part of helping with the situation we all find ourselves in.

Refunds will take place over the coming week as we are working with our website partner to figure out the best way to facilitate such a large refund process.

Social distancing does not mean your little athlete has to stop working on their game.  With the start of school being uncertain, parents and grandparents will be looking for activities to keep their children growing intellectually as well as physically.  Over the next few days, our GABL Academy Director and Director of Coaching will be creating 30 minute basketball workouts that your child can do during their time at home.  Some will include a goal, and some will not, as we know not everyone has access to one at their residence.

The GABL office will have limited staff and hours during the CDC’s recommended time frame but will continue to support our GABL families.  Our employees also need to support their families at this time, so please be patient with response times to your questions and concerns.  I assure you we will get back to each and every one of you.

We look forward to when this is all behind us and we can continue with our normal lives of going to work, enjoying a meal out at a restaurant, watching our kiddos play sports, and going to a grocery store that is fully stocked.  Until then, be safe and support your friends and neighbors as best you can.

Thank you.

Refund Questions:

We wanted to give you an update on how the refund process is going for our spring 5v5 and 3v3 programs.  While working with our website company, Sports Connect, we believe we have found a solution to our issue of refunding a large number of families all at once.  Our online transaction process only holds the money for one week and then is deposited into the GABL bank account.  Up until now, there has not been a process to inject money back in to our website in order to produce a mass refund.  A silver lining of our situation is that we had to figure out a solution to this issue, even though we hope we never have to do it again.

Thank you for being patient with us during this time.  We hope to start processing the refunds this week and will let you know as soon as we start.

Make sure you check out the GABL Facebook page for dribbling drills from our Academy Director, Ryan Hull and his 6th grade daughter Sydney.  It’s a great way to keep your kiddos moving and learning during this time at home.

We look forward to getting back on the court soon! .
